Privacy Policy
Sprout: Habit Tracker for iPhone · by NovaBit Games · Effective October 3, 2026
This policy covers the iOS app. The Android app has its own policy: Privacy Policy (Android).
1. Who we are
Sprout: Habit Tracker ("Sprout", "the app") is published by NovaBit Games ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with your information. Questions are welcome at mounsif392@gmail.com.
2. Data you create in the app
Habits, daily check-ins, notes, streak freezes, mood and energy check-ins, custom categories, your display name, an optional avatar picture and your settings are stored in the app’s private storage on your device. The Sprout widget reads the same data from that storage on your device. We never receive this data and cannot see it.
The app also keeps a few counters on your device (number of check-ins, install date, when a rating was last requested) only to decide when to show Apple’s rating prompt.
3. iCloud sync
iCloud sync is on by default and can be turned off at any time in Settings → Data & sync. When it is on:
- Sprout stores the data described in section 2 in Apple’s CloudKit, in the private database of your own iCloud account. It is kept by Apple under the Apple Privacy Policy and counts toward your iCloud storage.
- Only devices signed in to your Apple Account can read it. We have no access to your iCloud data and it never passes through any server operated by us.
- Sync lets your habits return when you reinstall Sprout or set up a new iPhone.
- If you turn sync off, new changes stay on that device only. Data already in iCloud is not deleted. You can remove it in your iCloud storage settings.
4. iPhone backups
iOS may include Sprout’s data in your iCloud or computer backup of the device. This is controlled by your device’s backup settings, not by us.
5. Export and import
You can export your data as a CSV or JSON file at any time. Exported files are yours and go wherever you choose to share or save them. Restoring a backup file only reads it on your device.
6. Purchases
Sprout Pro is sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells the app only whether a purchase or subscription is active. We never receive your name, Apple Account details, card details or billing address.
7. Offers
To show limited-time offers on the upgrade screen, the app downloads a small public file, promo.json, from this website (hosted on GitHub Pages). The request contains no personal data or identifiers. As with any web request, GitHub can see your IP address under the GitHub Privacy Statement; we receive nothing.
8. Notifications
Reminders, the morning plan and the evening check-in are scheduled and shown locally on your device. Their text is written on your device, and actions such as “Mark done” run on your device. When iCloud sync is on, Apple may send the app a silent signal that new data is ready to sync; it carries none of your habit data.
9. Siri, Shortcuts and widgets
Sprout offers Siri and Shortcuts actions and Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. They run on your device using the data in section 2. When you use Siri, your request is handled by Apple under the Apple Privacy Policy; we receive nothing.
10. What we do not do
- No advertising networks.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs that send data to third parties.
- No user accounts, tracking identifiers or sale of data.
- No access to contacts, location, Apple Health, photos (other than the avatar you pick) or other apps.
11. Children
Sprout is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the app collects nothing on our side, there is nothing for us to hold.
12. Deleting your data
Delete the app to remove everything on the device. Data synced to iCloud stays in your iCloud account until you remove it from your iCloud storage settings. Device backups follow your iPhone backup settings.
13. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted at this address and in the app, with an updated effective date.
